A couple of weekends ago I went down to Brighton to shoot The Great Escape for an NME Radar feature and online gallery. You can see the gallery which was shot by NME's Dan Dennison and myself HERE and the piece is in the mag this week.
This was the first time I've ever been to Brighton. I shot this friendly fellow at 35mm - theres very little crop too, just let me walk right up and take it.
Cerebral Ballzy played their last date of their UK tour at TGE and things got a little rowdy.
Lots of good new bands on show, EMA was one of the best sets I think I caught.
Brother posing outside the Brighton Corn Exchange.
My friends Ewan and Kara busking on the front. Playing the squeezebox and saw...
Friendly Fires playing in The Dome.
DZ Deathrays were also a great new Australian band I caught, really great live set, I think they'd just been on tour with Cerebral Ballzy.
Saw this lady playing with some sort of strange magical orb outside Brighton Pavilion?!
Yuck playing on the NME Radar stage at Horatio's on the promenade.
Anna Calvi shrieking at Komedia on the Friday.
The Naked And Famous posing for a quick shot after doing an NME video interview...
Whooooo!!!!
More strangeness...
Dry The River playing at Concorde 2
Frankie & The Hearstrings playing a sneaky afternoon set. I nearly broke my neck getting this shot...
Would this be good or bad?
It was a bit nippy out on the Prom... not too many people braving the beach either.
'Ravers' in the crowd at D/R/U/G/S the last thing I shot on the last night. Twas a fun little trip! (Also quick hi to Will E, Ewan and Kara lovely to catch up with you!)
