Went on a bit of an adventure to Midi Festival in a town called Toulon in the south of France a couple of weekends ago. I went out there will Mr Matt 'NME Radar' Wilko on a mission to hunt down and catch the best new bands playing at the festival...

Also had the pleasure of meeting a really interesting chap called Dirty Beaches, who we originally caught supporting Wu Lyf in their tunnel gig. He's really great live, a kind of nuts rocky one man band with lots of brutal wailing.

And yeah loads of other new bands at the festival which I'm sure will pop up over the next few weeks in the mag. Oh and also got to finally see Primal Scream doing Screamadelica which was sooooo much better than I thought it was going to be, absolutely brilliant ending to the festival.
