Earlier this year I did some promo's with a Leeds based Folk singer called Ewan McLennan. The shot's were to co-inside with the release of Ewan's album Rags & Robes. We had a few ideas, but basically just wanted to shoot some fairly earnest portraits (that also avoided the usual Folky clichés!). We did a couple of sessions and came up with a nice range of shots, one of which I actually used as part of my recent exhibition. So I guess I was fairly happy with what we came up with - there's nothing ground breaking just some fairly solid portraits that give little hints of Ewan's personality.

Since then Ewan's album has been released and has received a host of fantastically positive reviews and critical acclaim. Amongst which the album has been picked out as Mojo's Folk Album of the Month. Ewan has also received a nomination for Up And Coming Artist Of The Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards, he's also been nominated for the BBC 2 Horizon Award.

Anyway Ewan is a very nice chap and extremely talented and I wish him loads of luck with the awards. For more info and tour dates check out Ewan's website, I also noticed the other day that Ewan's album is up on Spotify, I'd definitely recommend people check it out, even if your not traditionally a folk fan it's a great record - definitely worth a listen.
